Designed for precision suturing of thin and delicate tissue, this attachment was originally developed while practicing dural closure during craniotomy procedures.
The center of the attachment is hollow, allowing a thin membrane—such as a section of surgical glove or transparent film dressing—to be stretched across the opening. Because there is no solid material underneath to support the needle, the user must rely on precise needle control, careful bite placement, and delicate tissue handling.
The attachment is ideal for developing skills used in fine suturing, microsuturing, and thin-tissue closure across specialties including neurosurgery, plastic surgery, vascular surgery, general surgery, OB/GYN, ENT, and ophthalmology.
It can also be used with surgical loupes or under a surgical microscope for advanced precision practice.
